Link Containment AS ("we", "us", or "LinkC") is the data controller for personal data collected via the LinkC mobile app and related services.

We are committed to protecting your privacy and processing your personal data in accordance with the Personal Data Act and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

This privacy policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and what rights you have.

3. What Personal Data Do We Collect?

3.1 Information You Provide Directly

  • Account information: First name, last name, email address, phone number
  • Authentication: Password (encrypted), SMS verification codes for two-factor authentication
  • Profile picture: Optional image you upload (stored securely)
  • Payment information: Card details processed by Stripe (only last 4 digits and expiration shown)
  • Contact list: If you grant permission, phone numbers to see who is a registered LinkC user (for sharing access)

3.2 Information We Collect Automatically

  • Location data: To show nearby lockers and calculate routes (requires permission)
  • Device data: Device type, OS, app version, platform (iOS/Android)
  • Push token: Expo Push Token to send notifications about reservations and access
  • Usage data: Reservations, locker openings/closings, sharing events
  • Access logs: Time and status of locker interactions (for security and support)
  • Security data: Failed login attempts and account lockouts

3.3 Information from Third Parties

  • Stripe: Payment status, transaction confirmations, Stripe Customer ID
  • Google Maps: Map data, routes, distance calculations
  • Azure Communication Services: SMS delivery status for verification codes

4. Why Do We Process Personal Data?

  • Deliver the service: Reserve, unlock, and use storage lockers (performance of contract)
  • Payment processing: Process payments and refunds (performance of contract)
  • Communication: Send important notifications about reservations (performance of contract)
  • Customer service: Answer inquiries and provide support (legitimate interest)
  • Security: Prevent fraud and abuse (legitimate interest)
  • Improvement: Improve the app and services (legitimate interest)

5. Sharing with Third Parties

We only share personal data with the following categories of recipients, and only when necessary to deliver the service:

  • Stripe Inc.: payment processing
  • Google LLC: maps/positioning
  • Microsoft Azure: cloud hosting, storage, IoT Hub, Functions
  • MongoDB Atlas: database services
  • Azure Communication Services: SMS sending
  • Expo (Meta): push notifications

When you share locker access with other LinkC users, they see your name, profile picture (if uploaded), and the locker you share—not your email, phone, or payment information. We never sell your personal data.

6. Storage and Deletion

  • Account information: Stored as long as you have an active account
  • Transaction data: Stored for 5 years (Accounting Act § 13)
  • Access logs: Deleted after 12 months
  • Push tokens: Deleted when you log out or delete your account
  • Profile pictures: Deleted upon account deletion
  • Failed logins: Reset on successful login or deleted after 24 hours
  • Upon account deletion: Personal data deleted within 30 days, except legally required retention

How to delete your account: Go to Profile → Settings → Delete account in the app. You must confirm with your password. Alternatively, contact support@linkc.io.

7. Your Rights

Under GDPR and Norwegian law, you have:

  • Access: know what information we have about you
  • Rectification: correct inaccurate information
  • Deletion: have your information deleted (“right to be forgotten”)
  • Restriction: restrict processing
  • Data portability: receive your data in a machine-readable format
  • Objection: object to processing based on legitimate interest
  • Complaint: complain to the Data Protection Authority

8. Security

  • Encryption of data in transit (TLS 1.2+)
  • Encryption of sensitive data at rest
  • Secure storage of passwords with modern hashing algorithms
  • Regular security reviews
  • Access control and logging

9. Children

LinkC is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16. If you are under 16, you must have parental consent to use the service.

10. Changes to the Privacy Policy

We may update this policy. For significant changes, we will notify you via email or in the app. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
